i was involved in a car accident on june 24th. not my fault – car attempted to do a u turn in front of me. i exchanged details, and got it in writing that other party accepted liability. my car is due to be picked up tomorrow. my insurance have said i am definitely not at fault. i have a hire car provided by insurance (bill currently at £1600)
the problem i have is that the debt recovery team have been contacting other parties insurance since the accident and they wont reply, i don’t think other party has even reported the incident to them.
should i go to police as it is an offence not to report a RTA?
I am not paying for the damage to my car and for the hire car.

Leave it to your Insurance Company. There is no need to report an incident to the Police unless somebody is actually hurt. Your Insurers know exactly how to find out who was driving providing you gave them the Registration Number. If they say the other driver has not reported the accident to his insurers, ask for his details & then take him to court.
